Antifreeze is a concentrated chemical (typically ethylene or propylene glycol) that lowers the freezing point and raises the boiling point of the water in your radiator. While often used interchangeably, "antifreeze" is a concentrated component, whereas "coolant" is the final mixture of antifreeze and distilled water (usually a 50/50 ratio) ready for use in your vehicle.
